Next Generation Intelligent Gateway platform –NGIG | ||||||||||||||||||||
Bytemobile was founded in 2000 in order to develop solutions for the decongestion of data traffic on mobile telecommunication networks and has been a world leader in the field of mobile telephony network optimisation solutions (2012 data). Its project titled 'Next Generation Intelligent Gateway platform –NGIG' aims at researching, designing and developing a smart platform to optimise and control data on mobile telephony networks (mobile broadband). The NGIG platform is incorporated into the central facilities (data centres) of mobile telephony providers and allows Internet access through any device (smartphone, laptop, etc.) in a completely transparent manner. The architecture of the NGIG platform is such that all the functionality required for online applications can be provided through a single hub incorporated in the heart of the network of telecommunications providers, while offering dramatic cost cuts. The importance for the convergence of data applications and mobile communications (smartphone, tablet, etc.) is fundamental due to the rapid increase of data in the mobile telephony network and the tremendous market penetration of smart devices. The project is an integrated and successful implementation of the actionΆs strategic goals and particularly of the Action: Support for cutting-edge industrial research and development of prototypes by particularly mature and innovative enterprises. More specifically, through the realisation of cutting-edge industrial research, the project paves a new way towards the optimisation of mobile Internet and the convergence of voice, image and data services, which is broadly expected to constitute the next revolution in the field of technology. It is noted that the positive response that the project has enjoyed to date at international exhibitions, is expected to further strengthen the company's position on the international technological map, whilst highlighting Greek research and scientific excellence. Finally, it should be mentioned that this project was a fundamental parameter in the recent investment (2012) made by Citrix (a global leader in the field, present in over 60 countries around the world with a clientele that includes over 130 telecommunications providers) in Bytemobile, cultivating positive conditions for strengthening its workforce anew, through the creation of new jobs, of a high scientific level in the region of Western Greece.
