The company with the corporate name Parparas S.A. and trade name 'Dimitra' was founded in June 1998. It is involved in the production, standardisation and canning of foodstuffs, such as: peppers, olives, pickles (various vegetables), aubergines, beets and vine leaves, and their marketing in the Greek and foreign markets. Since 1997, the company has been exporting its products to several European countries, such as the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, France, Cyprus and, mainly, Germany, under the trade name 'Dimitra'. 85% of its present-day production is exported, with the remainder being absorbed by the domestic market. A small part of its production, mainly olives, is absorbed by the Balkan market (Bulgaria, Skopje). Through the new investment plan, the enterprise is attempting to redesign the aubergine pâté and thesun-dried tomato pâté and to promote them in the markets of Russia and Australia. For this reason, within the framework of the investment plan, the company purchased machinery for the final stage of production, such as two automatic labelling machines, one pallet-wrapping machine and a heat-shrinking system. Furthermore, a modern online store(e-shop) was created and the company purchased computer equipment and software. Entering new markets required to redesign products, the design of new packaging, the publication of advertising material and the participation of the enterprise in the Anuga fair in Germany. Finally, the enterprise obtained BRS and IFS certificates, which are necessary for exporting to European countries (mainly England and Germany) conducting a market survey in Russia and registering its brand name in European countries. By completing the investment and the extroversion actions it implemented through the investment, the company achieved the following goals: a) the modernisation of its production systemmachinery b) the redesign and production of competitive products of high added value c) the improvement of the quality of its products and the assurance of sanitary production and distribution conditions. d) the organised export development of the enterprise in the field of retail trade and the strengthening of its position in wholesale trade e) the certified application of Total Quality (BRC/IFS application) combined with observance of the legislation in force in the target markets f) the revision of its organisational and management model with the implementation of new administration systems and strategies, such as production flexibility g) the creation of economies of scale and the consequent improvement of its financial indices at the level of production cost, profitability, etc. h) the improvement of the companyΆs competitiveness and the strengthening of its international image. website: http://www.parparas.com
