The company HATZIIOANNOU S.A. has been active in the packaging sector and, more specifically, in the production of (mainly cardboard) boxes for general packaging purposes since 1997. 

The boxes, made of coated or uncoated cardboard, are divided into two categories: folding cartons used for the packaging of products such as detergents, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, confectionery products, pizza, footwear, clothing, etc. and rigid paperboard boxes for the packaging of toys, goldsmithing products, cosmetics, etc. The products manufactured by the company mainly concern small packaging and are addressed to various industries.

The technological modernisation of the enterprise was its chief concern. For this reason, the company acquired its new production machine with an integrated paper-cutting unit, the most technologically perfect product on the global market at the moment, which is unique in being able to cut and shape cardboard using an automated total cleaning system instead of the manual partial cleaning system used by the company until then.

This exceptionally advanced product automatically cuts and shapes cardboard with absolute accuracy. Another innovation of this equipment is that it can render boxes legible to the visually impaired. This enabled the company to enter the market of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and chemical products packaging, where such labelling is required.

The purchase of this machine resulted in an improvement to the quality of the products manufactured and in time saved, resulting in an increase of production capabilities. The company also increased its exports and was able to produce new products (labels, cigarette cartons and packaging for pharmaceuticals).
